New in the March 15, 2011 release - Mar 16, 2011

We've integrated our MLS number search into our regular search results.  This change lets you search by an MLS number, like 691458, that you may have seen in an ad or on a house.  You can enter up to 28 of these, and then use the full power of our search results--see stats, map them, sort them, save them, email them, refine them.  Everything you can do with a regular search, you can now do with an MLS number search. 

Go ahead, try it out.  Here's an example of five interesting listings mapped and sorted by price per sqft.

We also, as we try to do every release, snuck in some bug fixes and stability improvements that should speed up COhomefinder.com.

New in the January 25, 2011 release - Jan 26, 2011

We'll, this includes a release we did in December as well, but never got around to writing about.

Lots of cool stuff.  The search page has been revamped, with some columns moving around.  In addition, the display type column is more user friendly.  Try it out, right next to the snapshot column, and you can see all the many views into home data COhomefinder provides.

Also, the quick view and photo gallery lightboxes are now scrollable.  This lets you see all the content of the lightbox without roaming around the screen.  It should also be much friendlier to folks with a smaller screen.

Another useful feature is search memory.  What that means is if you run a search and then go back to the home page or the simple search form, your parameters will be prepopulated.  This should make looking for 2 bed homes in multiple cities much easier.

We also added the a link to browse all homes in the Pikes Peak MLS IDX (~6000 homes at last count).

There was also a tremendous amount of infrastructure upgrades.  That might sound boring, but will result in a faster website all around.

New in the Nov 11, 2010 release - Nov 12, 2010

This blog post actually covers two releases--it's been busy around here! We did a refresh of the home page. It should load much more quickly, and we've spruced up the search options there. In fact, you can now search for an mls# right off the home page. We also made it much easier to view properties when you do a search. Look for the 'quick view' link and you can quickly see most of a property's information, as well as the photo gallery, all in a lightbox. The big benefit is that you can just hit the back button and you'll be quickly back at the search results where you are. We also made it easy for you to page through results, if you prefer to click through to a page. Look for the next/previous links in the upper right hand corner of the property details page. It will also tell you where you are in the search results ("Listing 3 of 200") and let you get back to the search easily ("Back to Results").

New in the September 16, 2010 release - Sep 17, 2010

This was a bug fix release, with some polishing and minor fixes. We did speed the map display up a bit.

New in the September 2, 2010 release - Sep 7, 2010

In this release, we focused on enabling a news platform. We also worked on making search and property pages load faster."

New in the August 24, 2010 release - Aug 25, 2010

This release focused on making looking at properties faster, something we know all of you care about. 

Now, when you run a search, you can page through results faster.  Use the 'previous' and 'next' links above and to the right of the property picture.  This will page through your properties in the order you put them in on the search page.

New in the August 5, 2010 release - Aug 6, 2010

This release features an overhaul of our REALTOR pages, as well as some changes to make it easier for us to get better data.  Now you can learn more about REALTORS on the 8z team from Denver

New release features in July 14 release - Jul 22, 2010

The COhomefinder tech team released a new version of the COhomefinder.com website on July 14th, 2010.

This was a maintenance release, with many small bugs fixed.  We also made some changes to our map display.

People ask this question a lot! It always makes us scratch our heads. We wonder why someone who loves using our website and knows that we deliver world class service chooses not to use one of our hand-picked 8z Real Estate Brokers as their agent.

Why not give us a chance to demonstrate the high level of service that a true professional delivers? We understand that many folks have to stick with their agent for a variety of reasons, and we are careful not to infringe on any existing agent-client relationships. As a result, in order not to violate any professional courtesies, we are not able to provide any client services to folks who already have a relationship with a non-8z agent. However, the public parts of our website are available for anyone to search for homes.

Are 8z and COhomefinder right for everyone? - Dec 29, 2008

Over the years, we have sought to make COhomefinder the perfect solution for anyone seeking to buy or sell real estate in Colorado. We think we have a great service. So do the hundreds of clients who have purchased or sold a home with us. However, we have also found that there are some types of buyers and sellers who prefer not to use our service. These include:

• Buyers who refuse to work with a Buyer's Agent and prefer to do all of the work on their own. Considering that it doesn't cost anything to use a Buyer's Agent, we have never quite understood why anyone would not want to work with an expert. Nonetheless, there is a segment of buyers who prefer to waste hours upon hours scheduling showings and dealing with dozens of listing agents directly.
• Sellers who want to sell their house themselves. We think For Sale by Owner (FSBO) is a viable choice for some homeowners, depending on many factors, including experience and comfort level of the homeowner with financial and legal transactions, current market conditions, and property type and condition. However, for sellers who would prefer to let an experienced 8z Real Estate Broker handle the details and maximize the exposure of their home using www.COhomefinder.com, the most popular real estate website in Colorado with thousands of buyers, we think we offer a great solution.
